Overview
O\’Neill & Brennan are working on behalf of a well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong track record of delivering high-profile infrastructure and groundworks projects across Central London. Due to a healthy pipeline of work and ongoing growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis. The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing health and safety across multiple live sites, ensuring full compliance with industry standards and legislation. You\’ll play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture, working closely with site teams, subcontractors, and management to ensure best practices are consistently upheld.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting regular site inspections and audits
- Advising site teams on health, safety, and environmental matters
- Reviewing and supporting the development of RAMS
- Investigating incidents, near misses, and accidents, and producing thorough reports
- Delivering site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Monitoring and reporting on H&S KPIs
- Liaising with clients and regulatory bodies where required
- Supporting the ongoing improvement of the company\’s HSEQ systems
Candidate Requirements
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate
- Minimum 3 years experience in a health and safety role within UK Construction or Civil Engineering
- Solid understanding of CDM Regulations and HSE best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working across multiple sites in Central London
- Full UK driving licence
- IOSH membership or working towards – desirable
