We are looking for an experienced contractor's Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team delivering a high-profile, multimillion-pound public sector project on the outskirts of Bristol.
Established for more than a hundred years, this independent construction and civil engineering business provides expert services in building new facilities, refurbishing existing ones, creating custom interiors, and executing major civil projects. Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of the project, including cost planning, budgeting, forecasting and value engineering
- Administration of NEC forms of contract, including assessment and agreement of compensation events, variations and payments
- Preparation and submission of interim valuations and applications for payment
- Subcontractor procurement, negotiation, valuation and final account settlement
- Production of timely and accurate cost and commercial reports for project and senior management
- Identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities
What You'll Bring
- Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor on major construction projects
- Strong experience working with NEC forms of contract (preferred)
- Background gained with larger regional or Tier 1 principal contractors (preferred)
- Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation and analytical skills
- Proficient in standard QS software and cost management systems
- Full UK driving licence
