JOB TITLE: Groundworker

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Groundworker to join a project in Yeovil. The role involves all aspects of groundwork, including drainage, concreting, kerbing, paving, and site preparation. You will play a vital role in the early stages of construction projects, helping to lay the foundation for successful builds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all types of groundworks includin, trenching, grading, and backfilling.
  • Install drainage systems including pipes, manholes, soakaways, and gullies.
  • Lay foundations, concrete slabs, footings, and substructure works.
  • Prepare and level ground for construction using hand tools and machinery.
  • Lay kerbs, paving slabs, block paving, and tarmac.
  • Operate small plant machinery (e.g., mini diggers, dumpers) safely and efficiently.
  • Read and work from site drawings and construction plans.
  • Work closely with site managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to complete tasks to specification.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Groundworker across all areas including drainage and concreting.
  • Competency in reading technical drawings and levels.
  • Skilled in the use of tools and small plant machinery.
  • CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) – Required.
  • Awareness of health and safety practices on-site.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid CSCS card
  • References for your work as a groundworker
