O'Neill & Brennan are currently working with a well-established and highly respected main contractor who are seeking to appoint an Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team based in the City of London.
Having experienced significant growth over recent years, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the build sector and has secured an excellent pipeline of both live opportunities and upcoming tenders. As a result, they are looking to strengthen their estimating function with the appointment of an ambitious and commercially astute Estimator.

Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed and competitive tender submissions for a variety of construction projects.
- Reviewing tender documentation including drawings, specifications and employer's requirements.
- Undertaking quantity take-offs and preparing accurate cost plans and estimates.
- Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Identifying project risks, opportunities and value engineering proposals.
- Liaising with operational, commercial and pre-construction teams throughout the bid process.
- Supporting bid presentations and client interviews where required.
- Maintaining estimating databases and contributing to continuous improvement within the pre-construction function.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as an Estimator within a main contracting environment.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, procurement routes and pricing strategies.
- Experience producing estimates across new build and/or refurbishment projects.
- Excellent numerical, analytical and commercial skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
