We are seeking experienced Site Managers to join our team delivering high-quality building projects across the UK. This permanent role offers the chance to take full operational leadership on major schemes, from mobilisation through to successful client handover, with strong long-term career prospects in a collaborative construction environment.
The Role
- Reporting to the Contracts Manager or Project Director, you will lead all site operations and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Full accountability for planning, execution, coordination, and delivery of the project from design through to completion and handover.
- Day-to-day management of site activities, teams, subcontractors, and resources.
- Monitoring the master programme, developing stage/section programmes, and managing any delays proactively.
- Acting as Temporary Works Coordinator.
- Organising site logistics, facilities, equipment, and material requisitions/deliveries in line with the programme.
- Leading toolbox talks, safety briefings, and regular inspections to maintain the highest health, safety, and welfare standards.
- Supervising, motivating, and managing the site team and subcontractors to achieve programme targets.
- Ensuring compliance with specifications, building regulations, health & safety legislation, and quality/environmental standards.
- Chairing weekly progress/review meetings and maintaining strong liaison with design teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Controlling costs, variations, waste minimisation, and commercial matters in collaboration with surveyors.
- Maintaining accurate project records and documentation for traceability.
About You
- Proven experience as a Site Manager (or equivalent) with a main contractor on medium-to-large building projects.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate diverse site teams and subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of construction programming, logistics, resource planning, and commercial awareness.
- Experience acting as Temporary Works Coordinator (desirable but highly valued).
- SMSTS certification (essential), CSCS Black Card, and relevant health & safety qualifications.
- Proactive, collaborative approach with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to safety, quality, sustainability, and continuous professional development.
