Job Purpose
We are looking for a claims technician to provide technical claims support, process and advise on multinational and multi-layered claims focusing on US casualty binders, financial lines and property. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that claims are valid, processed and paid within agreed timescales and provide value-added claims service to clients.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee and coordinate a portfolio of US casualty binder claims, including Professional Liability, General Liability, Errors & Omissions, Employment Practices Liability, Crisis Management, and other specialty liability classes, ensuring effective communication between clients, TPAs, coverholders, and insurers.
- Review and assess claims information, coverage positions, and carrier responses to support clients with clear, commercially focused advice.
- Monitor claim progress from notification to resolution, ensuring all parties meet contractual, regulatory, and service-level requirements.
- Act as a key claims advocate for clients, negotiating with insurers, TPAs, adjusters, and legal representatives to support favourable and timely outcomes.
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of CLASS and ECF systems, ensuring efficient submission, tracking, and agreement of claims within the Lloyd's and company markets.
- Provide claims support across financial lines (Directors & Officers, Errors & Omissions, Financial Institutions, Professional Indemnity) and property (including CAT and technical industrial risks) for both direct and reinsurance placements.
- Engage with all stakeholders worldwide ensuring regional nuances, document standards, and regulatory requirements are fully understood and met.
- Liaise with colleagues in both the London and overseas offices to provide a consistent and collaborative claims service.
- Maintain up-to-date claims records and data accuracy across internal systems in line with Lloyd's and company-market requirements.
- Participate in client reviews, renewal preparation, underwriter and broker meetings.
Skills & Knowledge
- Previous experience working with US casualty binders and 3rd party claims.
- Knowledge of property and financial lines advantageous but not essential.
- Good working knowledge of the (re)insurance market and London systems – Class/ECF/IMR.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage expectations and messaging.
- Ability to stay organised and able to prioritise/re-prioritise workloads.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills. Knowledge of Eclipse and/or ImageRight advantageous.
