To assist the Head of Compliance (HoC) in providing assurance to Mortgage Intelligence Holdings (MIH) that the Network and their Appointed Representatives (ARs) adhere to the required regulatory standards set by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and other regulatory bodies. Have responsibility for the maintenance of compliance related procedures across the Network, to ensure that they are appropriate and practical to allow ARs to deliver well documented and suitable advice to meet the needs of their customers. Where gaps are identified suggest, draft and implement appropriate enhancements and actions in conjunction with the HoC.
Key Responsibilities
- Regular reviews of Network procedures against the FCA Handbook and other regulatory rules.
- Proactively consider opportunities to improve policy and procedures, in order to enhance customer outcomes within MIH.
- Deal with regulatory questions from internal departments and across Network ARs.
- Take the lead on compliance related Consumer Duty actions, suggesting and making improvements to current and future compliance processes.
- Identify potential risks to the Network and customers, working with the HoC to put in place actions and procedures to mitigate the risks identified.
- Provide analysis of the potential impact on customers when considering introducing new initiatives.
- Liaise with other departmental managers/supervisors to provide them with information regarding any relevant regulatory developments.
- Liaise with other Group entities and other associated parties to identify appropriate synergies with regards to policies and procedures.
- Regularly attend and contribute to a range of internal and external meetings on compliance related matters.
- Produce information for monthly Board Reports, Risk Register, Vulnerable Customer and Consumer Duty reporting.
- Contribute towards the networks ongoing Consumer Duty obligations, considering these in all actions and decisions that are taken.
- Maintain a good industry and technical compliance knowledge, assuming responsibility for own personal development.
- Carry out ad hoc tasks as may be delegated to you by your line manager as required by the business.
Qualifications
- CeMap or equivalent qualification.
- Equity Release Qualification (desirable but not essential).
Experience / Knowledge
- Detailed knowledge of the mortgage and insurance markets.
- Detailed knowledge of the regulatory environment.
