Job title: Senior Cyber Resilience & Governance Advisor
Company description
OneCollab brings together cyber security leadership, AI governance and business & technology transformation, combining strategic advice with practical delivery. We partner with organisations across financial services, private equity, regulated sectors and complex supply chains to strengthen resilience, manage risk and deliver meaningful change.
Our work extends from Board and executive advisory to security operations, managed security services, compliance and assurance and the delivery of complex transformation programmes. We help organisations align security with business objectives, strengthen their controls, adopt AI responsibly and navigate business and technology change. Across our services, the emphasis is on practical outcomes: informed leadership, stronger resilience and change that delivers measurable value.
We are looking for an experienced cyber security and risk professional to join OneCollab in a client facing advisory role.
You will work directly with clients to assess their cyber resilience, evaluate governance arrangements and provide clear, proportionate recommendations. The role combines focused assessments and governance assignments with ongoing strategic advice through our advisory and fractional CISO services.
This is a role for someone who can examine the evidence, form an independent view and explain clearly what an organisation needs to do and why. You will need to be equally comfortable discussing security controls with technical specialists and explaining their business implications to senior management and Boards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering Cyber Resilience Reviews across key control domains, examining supporting evidence and identifying strengths, weaknesses and material risks.
- Assessing cyber and technology risk, translating technical findings into business implications and practical, prioritised recommendations.
- Delivering AI governance reviews and helping clients develop proportionate governance frameworks.
- Producing and presenting clear client reports for executives and Boards, explaining the risks, their significance and the actions required.
- Reviewing and constructively challenging information provided by IT teams, managed service providers, managed security service providers and other suppliers.
- Providing ongoing strategic advice through OneCollab’s advisory and fractional CISO services.
- Supporting technology due diligence and investment decisions through clear assessments of cyber and technology risk.
The role offers varied client assignments and direct engagement with senior decision makers, combining detailed assessment work with ongoing advisory relationships.
Capabilities required
We are looking for someone who combines practical cyber expertise with strong judgement, commercial awareness and clear communication.
You should bring:
- Relevant experience: Significant experience in cyber security, technology risk, governance or advisory roles, with the ability to apply that experience to different client environments.
- Practical understanding of security controls: A strong understanding of how controls operate in real organisations and the ability to assess their effectiveness beyond what is documented in a policy or reported by a supplier.
- Assessment and analytical capability: Experience reviewing evidence, identifying gaps, testing assumptions and reaching clear, defensible conclusions.
- Risk judgement: The ability to assess the business significance of technical findings, distinguish material risks from lower priority issues and identify where action or escalation is needed.
- Reporting and communication skills: Experience producing clear assessments and recommendations for senior decision makers, with the confidence to engage effectively with engineers, senior management and Boards.
- Constructive challenge and commercial awareness: An independent, pragmatic approach, with the ability to question information, explain concerns clearly and recommend proportionate actions that reflect the client’s circumstances.
Additional experience that would be valuable:
- Experience in AI governance, private equity backed environments or technology due diligence would be an advantage.
