About the Role
Standby24 is seeking an experienced Support Worker to support packages for children and adults with Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and behaviours that may challenge.

The ideal candidate will be calm, resilient, highly organised, and passionate about supporting individuals with complex needs to achieve positive outcomes and greater independence.
Requirements
- Female applicant (Genuine Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010)
- Minimum of
1 year experience working as a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker within mental health and/or learning disability services.
• Experience supporting individuals with
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Mental health needs
- Learning disabilities
- Behaviours that may challenge
- Eligibility to work in the UK with no restrictions.
- In‑date PMVA or equivalent restraint training certification.
- A full UK driving licence with access to a car (preferred).
Key Responsibilities
- Providing person‑centred support to an individual, building a positive and trusting relationship.
- Deliver support in line with care plans, risk assessments, and agreed strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour support and trauma‑informed approaches in daily practice.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent and effective support.
- Support the individual to access the community, attend appointments, participate in activities, and develop independence skills.
- Encourage choice, dignity, inclusion, and active participation in everyday life.
- Communicate effectively with family members, social workers, healthcare professionals, and other relevant stakeholders as required.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records and documentation.
- Follow organised policies, procedures, and best‑practice standards.
- Provide support with daily living tasks as required, including personal care, meal planning and preparation, household tasks, and maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment.
