About Our Role

We are seeking a motivated and proactive People Specialist to join our People Team. In this role, you will work closely with the People Business Partner to act as an operational advisor to managers, supporting the delivery of people and business goals. You’ll play a key role in enhancing manager capability, driving engagement, and fostering a positive and inclusive culture across the organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting managers to confidently handle employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, and informal disputes.
  • Partnering with People Business Partners to develop managers' capability, offering coaching, feedback, and guidance.
  • Coaching managers on engagement, culture change, and performance management.
  • Building strong relationships with managers to understand business challenges and provide effective people solutions.
  • Supporting more complex employee relations cases alongside the People Business Partners.
  • Contributing to organisational change, talent and succession planning, and development initiatives.
  • Championing company culture, values, and equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and People policies.
  • Using data and insights to support informed decision-making.
  • Supporting the Head of People with ad hoc projects.
  • Assisting People Admin where needed (including onboarding, benefits, payroll checks, offboarding).
  • Collaborating with the wider People Team on projects and programmes of work.
  • Acting as a role model by demonstrating company values with a positive, pragmatic, and solution-focused mindset.

What We Need From You

  • Previous experience in a similar People/HR role, or strong administrative experience with readiness to step up.
  • Confidence working with managers and stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to drive outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of employment law.
  • Strong stakeholder management and coaching skills.
  • Ability to balance project work with day-to-day operational tasks.
  • Curiosity and interest in emerging people trends and best practice.
  • A positive, values-driven approach to work.
  • CIPD qualification (desirable).
