About Our Opportunity

We are now looking for a Junior Software Test Engineer (Automation) to join our dynamic and collaborative in‑house technology team. Working alongside enterprise architects, developers, and engineers, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our next‑generation systems, built on a modern microservices architecture.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and execute automated test solutions to ensure system quality and performance
  • Build and maintain scalable automated test frameworks using Playwright
  • Execute system, functional, and regression testing across internal and third‑party systems
  • Analyse results to identify defects and performance issues, driving continuous improvement
  • Work within Agile SCRUM teams, participating in sprint planning, stand‑ups, and refinement sessions
  • Collaborate closely with developers and stakeholders to deliver customer‑centric digital solutions
  • Report progress, risks, and blockers to the Software Test Lead

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate would present all the skills to quickly integrate into our testing stack and development team, however, Onebright will consider testers with core skills/attributes and further training in automation testing will be provided regardless of experience.

Please note this is a Hybrid role based in York at least 2 days a week.

Must have skills:

  • Proven experience in manual testing (2+ years preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
