Role Overview
The Infrastructure Service Manager (ISM) is responsible for managing and maintaining hardware. The ISM ensures efficient break/fix support, asset management, and IT room organisation, working closely with the broader IT team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the infrastructure support team, ensuring high-quality service and escalation management.
- Provide rapid desk-side hardware break/fix support for desktop, laptop, and peripheral devices.
- Oversee asset management, inventory control, and hardware lifecycle tracking.
- Maintain build room and IT room standards, including daily housekeeping.
- Monitor and manage service ticket queues, prioritising requests for timely completion.
- Daily ready for business monitoring and management for all desks and meeting rooms.
- Ensure meeting rooms are ready for business checks and events.
- Support IMAC activities (internal moves, adds, changes) and business moves, taking part in early-stage planning.
- Coordinate shift rota and ad hoc weekend support as needed.
- Assist with hardware decommissioning, event setup, comms room patching, and work-from-home hardware requests.
- Manage client expectations and adhere to cost control guidelines.
Requirements
- Hands-on hardware experience and knowledge of asset management.
- Team leadership and shift management skills.
- Strong organisational and communication abilities.
Working Conditions
Full-time, in-office role, Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend work. Direct supervision of two junior team members; collaboration with IT teams.
