School Business Manager – Chief Financial Officer

The School Business Manager/Chief Financial Officer position is offered on a part time, term time only basis, 24 hours per week across 3, 4 or 5 days.

You will be working within an Ofsted rated Outstanding school and key responsibilities will include:

• As part of the senior leadership team, providing strategic business expertise to support the school’s ongoing development.
• Financial planning.
• Leading the preparation of the annual budget.
• Monitoring income and expenditure, providing accurate forecasting.
• Preparing and submitting statutory returns and funding claims.
• Coordinating year-end financial processes and liaising with auditors.
• Identifying opportunities to maximise income and secure additional funding.
• Leading procurement activity and contract management.
• Maintaining accurate financial records including banking arrangements and financial policies.
• HR & Personnel tasks – liaising with the external HR provider and Headteacher regarding employment matters, workforce planning and recruitment.

You should have strong financial management and business experience across any sector, think strategically, be a pro-active problem solver who enjoys improving systems and processes. You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills and demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
