Can you inspire, energise and motivate children aged 9-18 years? Do you enjoy making a real difference to the lives of young people? Are you keen to work with a friendly team where your contributions will be valued and you will be treated with respect? This Youth Worker role will be part of our youth work team - delivering sessions at our youth clubs in the Hatfield and Watford areas. Generally, these are delivered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
Reporting to the Senior Youth Development Worker, supports with the delivery of a range of outreach and centre-based youth work with young people aged 10-18 years and in line with the YMCA Youth Work Strategy and Principles.
The Role:- Spend a large proportion of time working in direct contact with young people during the evenings
- Work with staff, local agencies and young people to plan and deliver personal and social development programmes
- Engage and empower young people, motivating them to participate in activities and programmes and take opportunities that will enhance the quality of their lives and the opportunities available to them
- Build effective professional relationships with young people, professionals and others involved in the delivery of activities
- Training can be given for this role.
- An Enhanced Disclosure Check is required for this role.
- Experience of working with young people from different backgrounds, providing a range of activities and support
- Level 3 qualification in Youth Work or equivalent, and ideally a relevant JNC recognised professional youth work qualification (Desirable)
