We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Housing Support Worker to provide relief cover at our supported housing site in Watford. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for flexible, casual work while making a real difference in people’s lives.
About the Role
As a Housing Support Worker, you will play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for residents. You will provide practical and emotional support to individuals with a range of needs, helping them to maintain their wellbeing and develop their independence while working as part of a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing mental health and emotional wellbeing support to residents
- Supporting residents with physical health needs
- Assisting residents to book and attend GP appointments
- Offering drug and alcohol support, including signposting to specialist services
- Covering the reception desk, welcoming visitors and responding to enquiries
- Supporting residents in the dining room during meal times
- Promoting independence, dignity, and respect at all times
- Following safeguarding, health & safety, and organisational procedures
About You!
We are looking for someone who is:
- Caring, patient, and non-judgemental
- Comfortable supporting individuals who may have complex needs
- A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Able to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
- Previous experience in housing, support work, or care would be beneficial, but it is not essential. We welcome applicants who have the right values and a genuine desire to support others.
