We are looking for a Café Team Leader to work in this exceptionally beautiful and busy Café, set in the grounds of an award-winning country park. One YMCA are a sector leading and welcoming café; your role will be to support the Café Manager in delivering a robust and professional experience for the Woodlands customers, enhancing all activities in the park and across our community of Herts/Beds and Bucks, so will need to drive when required for catering purposes.
We are looking for an experienced hospitality specialist who goes the extra mile, leading the team in the absence of the Manager to deliver excellent presentation standards on site at all times, influence sales across beverages and food, always putting the customer at the heart of everything they do. Barista experience would be an advantage.
This will require a combination of skill, knowledge and enthusiasm to deliver maximum community benefits whilst ensuring sustainability is maintained and support the growth plan with a flexible approach to achieve and exceed.
Key Duties- Make a contribution to providing an excellent service to our customers, with a passionate and enthusiastic approach.
- Lead the team through day-to-day cleaning, making coffee, some food prep duties, clearing tables, computerised tilling system, organising the team and showing a forward-thinking approach to the menu.
- Uphold the Food Safety Policy and support fellow colleagues to follow the food handler’s guidelines and complete all documentation.
- Be a role model in all aspects of service, standards and approach to task.
- Ensure the cleaning schedules are completed to the highest standards.
- Understand the Café priorities lead and contribute daily.
- Support the Manager to deliver community functions; flexibility within contracted hours will be required on occasion as will attending sites across Herts/Beds and Bucks.
- Level 3 food safety desirable
- Knowledge and experience of working within the Hospitality industry.
- Knowledge and experience of line managing/supervising a team.
- Knowledge and experience of delivering a high standard of customer service.
This is a Full Time role. Hours per week: 37.5. Working Pattern: 5 days a week, weekend work included, mixed rotas.
