A reputable and expanding construction company, known for delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects in prestigious South Coast locations, is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to support well-structured finance operations within a professional, friendly, and collaborative environment. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will play a key part in ensuring the accurate processing of daily financial transactions and maintaining strong internal systems across the business.
Bookkeeper Responsibilities
- Upload and process invoices, including resolving queries with suppliers
- Manage scheduled payment runs
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Support the preparation and submission of CIS and VAT returns
- Process timesheets and expenses
- Payroll processing would be an advantage (not essential)
- Monitor overhead accounts and assist with financial reporting
- Answer incoming calls on the main business phone line
- Assist with basic HR system administration and general office duties
- Training support available for the right candidate
Bookkeeper Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
- Professional and confident telephone manner
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry
- Accounting qualifications preferred; experienced candidates without qualifications will also be considered
- Construction industry experience is advantageous but not essential
