Position: Supervisor to a Groundworks gang

Project: Major Infrastructure Scheme AWE Aldermaston

Contractor: Tier 1 Principal Contractor

Location: AWE Aldermaston, Berkshire, RG7 4PR (secure nuclear-licensed site)

Duration: Up to 12 months (strong potential for extension)

Start Date: Immediate / ASAP

Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 18:00 (10 hours paid per day). Saturday working available at overtime rates (premium rates apply). 56 day working week as required by programme.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Groundworks Supervisor to work and supervise a Groundworks gang on a long-term infrastructure project at AWE Aldermaston. The primary scope involves the excavation of approximately 800 mm deep service trenches, installation of multi-utility cables, and subsequent backfill and reinstatement works. You will operate modern 1320 tonne 360 excavators in a live construction environment with strict quality, safety, and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely excavate 800 mm deep trenches to exact line and level
  • Install and bed multi-utility cables, ducts, and associated infrastructure
  • Work in accordance with method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-dig systems
