An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Office Manager to join one of the South Coasts leading specialist construction contractors.

Our client is a highly respected and established business, recognised as a major player within their sector and trusted by developers, main contractors, and housing associations across the region. With continued growth and an increasing workload across residential and commercial projects, they are now looking to appoint a proactive and highly organised Office Manager to strengthen their internal operations and support the wider business

Office Manager Job Description

As Office Manager, you will oversee the daily running of the office, ensuring operations remain efficient, organised, and professional at all times.

You will act as a central support function across the business, coordinating administration, managing records, supporting invoicing, handling communications, and ensuring project teams, suppliers, and management remain aligned with up-to-date information.

This role would suit someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can confidently manage multiple priorities.

Office Manager Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day office operations and administration
  • Manage incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries professionally
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, files, and databases
  • Coordinate meetings, calendars, and site visit schedules
  • Support invoicing, purchase records, and job cost administration
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Prepare reports and assist management with business administration
  • Order and manage office supplies and equipment
  • Help improve internal systems and office processes
  • Ensure smooth communication between office and site teams
Office Manager Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience in an Office Manager, Senior Administrator, or similar role
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service ability
  • Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
Essential: Previous experience using Xero for invoicing, finance administration, or bookkeeping support
  • Construction, trades, or contractor experience highly desirable (but not essential)
  • Confident supporting both office-based and operational/site teams
