We are recruiting on behalf of a leading national housebuilder for a Senior Buyer to join their Commercial team. This is a key role supporting multiple housing developments, ensuring materials are ordered efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the required specification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage materials and plant orders with national and general suppliers, optimising cost and quality.
- Attend pre-start and project meetings to review drawings and specifications.
- Prepare cost schedules, budgets, and material valuations.
- Monitor and report on material cost increases and site accruals.
- Resolve invoice queries and carry out site material checks.
- Collaborate with Estimators, Quantity Surveyors, and other teams to support successful project delivery.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 4 or higher in a relevant discipline and a valid CSCS card.
- Experienced with COINS Software.
- Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and experience managing budgets.
- Methodical, organised, and able to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with commercial systems.
