This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and driven Health & Safety Advisor to join a progressive business where safety is embedded into everything they do. Reporting directly to the Head of HSEQ Management, you will play a key role in maintaining and continuously improving the company’s Integrated Management System, ensuring best practice and compliance across all operational activities.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership, contract managers, site teams, and operational staff to promote a strong safety-first culture, helping drive behavioural change and continuous improvement throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the ongoing development and implementation of the company’s Integrated Management System
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation, regulations, and internal procedures
- Provide practical H&S advice and support across all levels of the business
- Review and assist in preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure they are task-specific and robust
- Support operational teams in maintaining safe systems of work on live projects
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and compliance checks
- Conduct safety dip tests including vehicle checks, PUWER compliance, first aid provisions, and behavioural observations
- Monitor and analyse accident, incident, and near miss data, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions
- Assist with accident and incident investigations, producing reports and lessons learned
- Maintain central records including accident logs, inspections, and compliance reporting
- Deliver engaging Toolbox Talks relevant to current project activities
- Stay up to date with new legislation and industry best practice, advising on implementation
- Support external audits, accreditations, and re-certification processes
- Positively influence site behaviours and drive measurable improvements in safety performance
We’re looking for someone who is confident, organised, and passionate about driving high standards in health and safety. You will ideally have experience within:
- Construction
- Facilities Management
- Property Compliance
- Renewables / Retrofit
- Social Housing or similar environments
- NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (minimum)
- CSCS Card
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety role
- Strong understanding of RAMS, inspections, audits, and Construction Phase Plans
- Good working knowledge of current H&S legislation
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to analyse data and produce meaningful reports
- Full UK Driving Licence and own vehicle
- Flexible approach to travel and working hours
