A leading and long-established civil engineering and residential groundwork contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join its growing commercial team based near to Verwood, East Dorset. With over 25 years of industry success, the company has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality civil engineering and residential infrastructure projects across the South. The Role: Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager / Director, you will be responsible for the surveying and estimating of residential groundworks and civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to completion.
Quantity Surveyor / Estimator Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as the main point of contact for all commercial, surveying, and estimating queries
- Assisting with the preparation, submission, and agreement of tenders and contract submissions
- Preparing project forecasts and cost plans
- Managing and pricing variations, claims, and design changes
- Ensuring contractual compliance across projects
- Producing accurate commercial reports demonstrating project profitability and progress
- Working collaboratively with procurement and site management teams
- Ensuring all procedures and deadlines are met
Quantity Surveyor / Estimator Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years experience within UK residential groundworks / civil engineering projects
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience using Bluebeam or similar construction software
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced commercial environment
