We are working with a well-established and growing civil engineering and groundworks contractor operating across the South of England. The business specialises in delivering infrastructure and groundworks packages for residential developments, working with a range of regional and national housebuilders.

Projects typically include:

  • Roads and sewers (S278 / S38 / S104 works)
  • Foundations, drainage, and external works
  • Full groundworks packages on housing developments
  • Multi-phase residential schemes ranging from smaller sites through to large-scale developments

An opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team, supporting the delivery of multiple residential groundworks projects. You will act as a key commercial point of contact across projects, working closely with operational teams to ensure strong financial control and project performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact for all commercial, surveying, and estimating queries on projects
  • Ensure the business meets all contractual obligations and responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of tenders and contract documentation
  • Manage and agree variations, claims, and design changes
  • Produce cost plans, forecasts, and commercial reports
  • Monitor and report on project profitability and performance
  • Work collaboratively with procurement and site teams to drive project success
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and reporting deadlines

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years experience in Quantity Surveying within UK residential groundworks
  • Strong understanding of groundworks and infrastructure packages for housing developments
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience using Bluebeam or similar construction software
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple stakeholders
