Our client is a well-established civil engineering and utilities contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK. They operate as a principal contractor across:

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting a long-term framework based in Portsmouth. This is a key position supporting multi-year programmes of planned and reactive works, ensuring strong commercial performance, accurate forecasting, and effective client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full commercial management of civils & infrastructure projects
  • Cost control, forecasting, and reporting
  • Subcontract procurement and management
  • Contract administration (NEC preferred)
  • Managing variations, valuations, and final accounts
  • Supporting framework delivery and client engagement
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure project success

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior QS within civil engineering or utilities/infrastructure projects
  • Experience with NEC forms of contract
  • Background in frameworks or long-term programmes preferred
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively
