M&E Design Engineer in Nottingham

We are working with an established specialist rail engineering business who are looking to appoint an M&E Design Engineer to strengthen their design capability. This is an excellent opportunity for an M&E Design Engineer with experience working within the rail sector, particularly on station environments, who is looking for a position offering flexibility alongside genuine technical and career development. The role will be predominantly remote, with typically around one day per week required depending on project requirements, meetings and programme demands. M&E Design Engineer – The Role
You will work as part of the design team supporting the delivery of M&E designs across rail and station projects, working alongside experienced and Chartered Managers who can support your continued technical and professional development. Responsibilities will include: Producing and supporting M&E designs for rail and station projects
Working across the design process from initial requirements through to detailed design and delivery
Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical information
Coordinating with internal teams, clients and other engineering disciplines
Ensuring designs meet relevant railway standards and project requirements
Providing technical input throughout project delivery
Supporting the development and delivery of E&P designs where appropriate
M&E Design Engineer – Development
Previous E&P design experience would be beneficial but is not essential. For someone with a strong station M&E background, the business is prepared to provide further exposure and development within E&P design. You will be working alongside experienced and Chartered Managers, giving you the opportunity to learn from senior professionals within the industry and continue developing your technical knowledge. The business will also support the successful candidate through the process of progressing towards CRE responsibilities. Previous M&E design experience
Experience working within the rail industry
Experience delivering M&E designs within station environments
Good understanding of relevant rail standards and design processes
Ability to work effectively within a predominantly remote position
Strong communication and technical coordination skills
Previous E&P design experience would be advantageous, although candidates looking to develop in this area will also be considered. M&E Design Engineer – Package
Salary circa £45,000 up to £50,000, depending on experience
Permanent position
Predominantly remote working
Typically around one day per week required depending on projects and programme requirements
