Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - The Role
As the Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring plant, machinery and site facilities remain safe, reliable and operational.
You'll be trusted to manage your own workload, respond to breakdowns efficiently and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability.
Initially, the position operates Monday to Friday during daytime hours.
As the business continues to grow, there may be opportunities to support an evolving maintenance function across extended operational hours.
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Key Responsibilities
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across plant and equipment.
Responding quickly to mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs.
Supporting the maintenance of buildings and wider site infrastructure, including lighting, doors, welfare facilities and general repairs.
Working alongside specialist contractors when required.
Assisting with servicing, repairs and installation of machinery.
Identifying recurring faults and recommending long-term improvements.
Maintaining accurate maintenance records where required.
Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company health and safety procedures.
Supporting compliance inspections and maintaining high housekeeping standards throughout the site.
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Candidate Criteria We're looking for someone who enjoys a practical engineering role and takes pride in keeping operations running efficiently.
Ideally, you'll have: Previous experience within a Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer or similar maintenance role.
Strong mechanical maintenance experience.
Basic electrical fault-finding skills (advantageous but not essential).
Experience working within manufacturing, production, recycling, industrial, logistics or similar operational environments.
The ability to work independently and prioritise workloads.
A proactive, solutions-focused attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
A strong commitment to health and safety.
