Estimator Job Description Working closely with the Pre-Construction and Commercial teams, you'll take ownership of the estimating process from initial enquiry through to tender submission, preparing accurate and competitive cost plans across a variety of projects.
The role offers excellent variety, with involvement in both new build and refurbishment schemes across multiple sectors.
Estimator Key Responsibilities Preparing detailed estimates and competitive tender submissions.
Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Producing accurate take-offs and cost plans.
Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Identifying value engineering opportunities.
Assessing project risks and commercial opportunities.
Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the tender process.
Supporting project handovers to the delivery team following successful bids.
Estimator Criteria To be successful, you'll ideally have: Previous experience as an Estimator with a main contractor.
Experience pricing both new build and refurbishment projects.
A strong background within the residential sector, ideally including high-end or bespoke developments.
Exposure to projects valued between £250,000 and £6 million.
Excellent commercial awareness and strong attention to detail.
The ability to build strong working relationships with clients, consultants and the wider supply chain.
