An established and growing regional contractor is looking to appoint an Estimator to join their pre-construction team. The company delivers a wide range of refurbishment and construction projects across the housing, education and commercial sectors, typically ranging from £500k specialist packages through to £10m schemes. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking an Estimator who enjoys the analytical side of construction, understanding project scope, pricing work accurately and supporting the successful delivery of projects from the outset. Estimator Job Description: Working closely with the commercial and operational teams, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across a varied portfolio of refurbishment and construction projects. You will play an important role in helping the business secure new work while maintaining strong commercial discipline and realistic pricing strategies. Estimator Key Responsibilities: Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations Carrying out take-offs and cost analysis Supporting the development of tender strategies Identifying risks and opportunities within project scopes Working closely with the commercial team to ensure smooth handover to delivery teams About Our Client: Our client is a well-established contractor with a strong reputation for delivering refurbishment and construction projects across the South of England. Typical projects include: Residential refurbishment and housing upgrades Education sector projects including schools and colleges Commercial refurbishment and fit-out works Specialist construction packages within larger developments Projects are delivered for both public and private sector clients, with a strong focus on quality delivery and long-term client relationships. Estimator Criteria: We are interested in speaking with candidates who have a strong understanding of construction estimating and refurbishment projects.
