Project Manager Overview

Are you an experienced Project Manager looking to lead prestigious residential projects where quality comes before quantity? Our client is a well-established, privately owned main contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering exceptional residential projects across Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties. Specialising in high-end renovations, heritage restorations, bespoke new builds and design & build developments, they have built a reputation for delivering outstanding workmanship and maintaining long-standing relationships with both clients and consultants.

Due to a healthy pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to take full responsibility for a flagship residential project in South Oxfordshire.

Your first project will see you acting as the Number One on site, leading a prestigious multi-phase renovation of town houses within a residential estate. With approximately two years remaining, this scheme offers long-term stability and the opportunity to take ownership of the project through to successful completion. You will oversee the day-to-day operation of the site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the exceptional quality standards expected by the client.

Following this project, you'll continue to work on a diverse portfolio of high-quality residential developments, including luxury homes, listed buildings, heritage refurbishments and bespoke design & build projects.

The Role

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will manage the full lifecycle of projects from pre-construction planning through to practical completion and handover. You will lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors, work closely with clients, consultants and architects, and ensure every aspect of the project is delivered to programme, budget and the highest possible standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the full lifecycle of residential construction projects
  • Acting as the Number One on site with overall responsibility for project delivery
  • Planning, managing and monitoring construction programmes
  • Leading and motivating site teams
  • Coordinating subcontractors and specialist trades
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, architects and design teams
  • Managing quality assurance throughout construction
  • Ensuring projects remain on programme and within budget
  • Administering projects under JCT contracts
  • Maintaining excellent Health & Safety standards
  • Producing progress reports and attending project meetings
  • Identifying and resolving site issues with a proactive, solutions-focused approach

About You

We’re looking for a motivated construction professional with a strong background in residential projects and a passion for delivering quality. You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Project Manager within residential construction
  • Alternatively, significant experience as a Senior Site Manager looking to progress into a Project Manager role
  • Experience delivering Design & Build projects
  • Strong refurbishment and renovation experience
  • Excellent programme management skills
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing site teams
  • Sound knowledge of JCT contracts
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving
  • High standards of quality and attention to detail
  • Full UK Driving Licence
