We are working in partnership with the fantastic Great Rail Journeys looking for a full time, permanent Relationship Manager based in York who excels in building and managing relationships, engaging others and team management.

The successful Relationship Manager will have strong leadership skills with a proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate teams. You will be down to earth and be instantly likeable, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to build strong relationships across diverse stakeholders and remote teams.

A customer-first mind-set is essential, ensuring high service standards and an outstanding customer experience.

Relationship Manager key responsibilities include:

  • Bringing People Together: Organising and attending conferences, webinars, and forums to foster collaboration, learning and a feeling of ‘belonging’. Engaging a self-employed community by building meaningful relationships, supporting individuals throughout their journey at GRJ.
  • Helping People Shine: Supporting and developing a great team, making sure they feel valued and empowered to support the self-employed community.
  • Encouraging Growth: Providing constructive feedback and championing improvement efforts.
  • Keeping Things Running Smoothly: Overseeing scheduling, logistics, and resource management to ensure a seamless operation.
  • Welcoming New Talent: Leading the hiring process and ensuring new starters feel welcomed and prepared from day one.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience leading and managing dispersed/remote teams (essential requirement).
  • Great communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A positive, supportive, and customer-focused approach.
  • Confidence in handling feedback and having tough conversations.
  • A hands-on leadership style that encourages teamwork.
  • A background in Management, Retail, HR, Operations, or similar leadership role.

This role demands a hands-on approach, balancing leadership responsibilities with direct operational involvement.
