One to One Personnel is partnering with a well-established, forward-thinking Utility Surveying consultancy that delivers high-quality PAS128 surveys across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth, they’re looking to add an experienced Senior Utility Surveyor to their Essex-based team. This is a role for someone who enjoys technical excellence, wants a voice on projects and values working for a business that invests in its people.

The role

You’ll take the lead on detailed utility surveys, working across a variety of sites while supporting junior team members and ensuring projects are delivered accurately, safely and on time. You won’t be micromanaged; this is a trusted senior position where your experience genuinely matters.

What you’ll be doing

  • Delivering PAS128 compliant utility surveys
  • Leading field teams and coordinating on-site activity
  • Carrying out surveys using GPR (high & low frequency), EML and drainage techniques
  • Producing clear, professional utility survey reports and drawings
  • Ensuring quality control across survey outputs
  • Supporting and mentoring junior surveyors
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams
  • Occasional travel across the UK and Europe (not constant)

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to tick every box, strong experience and the right attitude matter most.

  • Solid experience in utility surveying (typically 4+ years)
  • Comfortable working to PAS128 standards
  • Confident using GPR and EML equipment
  • Experience leading surveys or small teams on site
  • Strong reporting and data interpretation skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Nice to have

  • Experience mentoring junior surveyors
  • Utility Mapping / Surveying qualifications (QCF Level 3+)
  • Familiarity with modern surveying software and workflows
