Purpose of the Role
Are you passionate about making a real difference to individuals with SEND?
This is a rewarding opportunity to support individuals with learning difficulties and disabilities, helping them build confidence, develop independence and achieve their personal and academic goals.
Youll provide one-to-one and group support, promote inclusion and wellbeing, and work closely with staff to ensure individuals receive the right support to thrive.
Previous SEND experience and an up-to-date DBS are essential, with an ideal start date of W/C 4th September.

- SEN Learning Support Assistant Main Duties & Responsibilities
- SEND Coaching & Learner Support
- Take a coaching approach to developing learners independence and confidence.
- Support learners to improve their communication skills and ability to make appropriate personal choices and decisions.
- Help learners prepare for adult life and develop practical life skills.
- Provide individual and small-group support both within the classroom and in other settings.
- Provide SEND-related advice, guidance and practical strategies to staff across a range of settings.
- Ensure learners have appropriate opportunities to work towards the outcomes identified in their EHCPs.
- Provide support with individual mobility and access to the facilities, including:
- 1:1 support.
- Personal care.
- Moving and handling.
- Promote awareness and understanding of SEND across the business.
- Contribute to staff training and development relating to the needs of learners with SEND.
