The Role
As a Finance Business Partner, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the Group’s financial strategy and overall business objectives. Working closely with strategic leads and budget holders, you’ll provide clear financial insight, real‑time analysis and expert guidance that drives informed decision‑making and strengthens financial health.
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring strong experience in financial management, regulatory compliance, business acumen and excellent communication skills that enable you to influence and support stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Finance Business Partnering by preparing information and reports required for monthly review meetings with site Principals and Executive Directors.
- Hold regular meetings and work proactively with budget holders to enable accurate forecasting and agree management actions to address variances, using data‑driven insight.
- Conduct financial modelling and scenario analysis, using data and statistics to assess the financial impact of organisational strategies, decisions and changes to financial processes, informing necessary accounting adjustments.
- Ensure budget reports are accurate and contribution levels are effectively monitored.
- Contribute to the reconciliation of a range of balance sheet control accounts.
- Maintain effective communication with designated stakeholders and the Finance Department management team, sharing information on productivity, financial performance and emerging issues to support informed decision‑making and improve organisational efficiency.
- Provide financial analysis to support business development activities.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process, using statistical analysis and trend data to support recommendations.
- Contribute to the production of the financial year‑end accounts.
- Participate in the development and implementation of financial strategy and support improvements in the Group’s overall financial health.
What you’ll need
- Minimum part – qualified CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent AAT qualification.
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at grades A–C.
- Degree – level qualification in Business Administration or Finance.
- Strong experience using Excel to analyse and interpret complex data.
- Ability to use activity data to inform and drive financial insights.
- Experience meeting with Budget Managers and providing financial support and guidance.
- Background working within a management accounts function, with a solid understanding of management information and its purpose.
- Proven track record of high performance in previous roles.
- Experience working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to explain financial information clearly and make recommendations to both financial and non‑financial stakeholders.
- Understanding of how to promote and uphold Equality and Diversity within the role.
