My client is a growing independent financial planning firm based in Rayleigh, and they are looking for an experienced Financial Services Administrator to join their friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid experience within an IFA, financial planning or wealth management environment who is now looking to take the next step towards a career in paraplanning.

You'll be joining an established team where your existing knowledge and experience will be valued. You'll be trusted to manage your own workload, take ownership of cases and ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently, while developing your technical knowledge and working closely with experienced advisers and paraplanners.

The Role

Working closely with advisers and paraplanners, you'll provide high-quality administration across a range of financial planning and wealth management cases. Accuracy, organisation and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple cases and ensure they progress within required timescales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing administration support to advisers and paraplanners across the full financial planning process
  • Issuing, chasing and summarising Letters of Authority (LOAs)
  • Liaising with providers regarding LOAs and new business submissions
  • Processing new business accurately across multiple platforms
  • Placing trades, running reports and producing illustrations
  • Maintaining accurate client records and updating back-office systems
  • Monitoring cases and ensuring they progress within required timescales
  • Liaising with providers and other relevant parties to resolve queries and obtain outstanding information
  • Supporting advisers and paraplanners with day-to-day client administration
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately and in line with regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Contributing to the wider team's processes and workflows

What We're Looking For

You'll be required to have previous experience in a Financial Services Administrator or IFA Administrator role and be comfortable working within an independent financial advice, financial planning or wealth management environment.

You'll need:

  • Strong knowledge of financial services administration and new business processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to manage your own workload and take ownership of cases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A professional and proactive approach
  • Confidence liaising with providers, advisers and other professional contacts
  • A genuine interest in developing your career within financial planning
  • An ambition to progress towards a Paraplanner position in the future

Experience dealing with providers such as Aviva, 7IM, Quilter, Royal London or Prudential would also be beneficial.
