Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as an Ofsted Registered Manager located in Newton Abbot. The role involves leading and managing the day-to‑day operations of a children’s care home in line with Ofsted regulations and compliance standards. Key responsibilities include ensuring high standards of care for young people, supporting staff development, managing budgets, maintaining accurate records, and liaising with external agencies to ensure positive outcomes. The Registered Manager will also oversee the implementation of individualized therapeutic plans tailored to the young people’s needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and personal development.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing a children’s home or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and compliance standards
- Leadership, team management, and staff development skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and record-keeping abilities
- Ability to create and implement personalized therapeutic care plans
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification), or willingness to work towards obtaining it
- Empathy, resilience, and a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable young people
- Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively
