Registered Manager Children’s Residential Home Altrincham, South Manchester

Package up to £85,000

We are looking for a driven and child centred Registered Manager to lead the opening and registration of a brand new children’s residential home in Hale, South Manchester. This is a rare opportunity to join at the very beginning of a fully funded new provider, backed by an established family office with experience across SEN Education, Property and Specialist Care. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the home from the ground up, leading the Ofsted registration process, building the staff team and embedding a strong culture of care, safety and positive outcomes.

Package:

  • Salary: Up to £65,000 DOE
  • Overall package: Up to £90,000, including performance related incentives
  • Ofsted registration bonus

The Opportunity

This is not just a Registered Manager role. It is the chance to lead the first home of a new provider with clear plans to grow. You will be involved in the setup of the service before opening, including recruitment, policies, compliance, Ofsted preparation and the development of a strong therapeutic culture. We are open to speaking with experienced Registered Managers, as well as strong Deputy Managers or senior leaders within children’s residential care who are ready to step into their first Registered Manager position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Ofsted registration process for the home.
  • Oversee the setup and opening of the service.
  • Recruit, manage and develop a high quality staff team.
  • Ensure the home operates in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Create a safe, warm and therapeutic environment for children and young people.
  • Embed a child centred culture focused on stability, safeguarding and positive outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities, families, professionals and external agencies.
  • Drive the home towards a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience within children’s residential care.
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, Team Manager or senior leader within a children’s home setting.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, compliance and Ofsted expectations.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or working towards it.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a staff team.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with professionals and external agencies.
  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
