We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced retail environment where no day is the same.
You will play an important role in daily store operations by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments, and helping maintain the store’s appearance. As customer service is at the heart of our business, you will be encouraged to improve service through on-the-job coaching and feedback, creating a safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff alike.
You will be Responsible For:
- Serving customers with passion and pride, delivering natural, friendly service.
- Encouraging customer feedback via the ‘have your say’ survey.
- Working across all store areas including online, tills, replenishment, vending, and stock routines to meet customer needs.
- Practicing safety in all tasks through proper training.
- Participating in seasonal, community, and charity events to foster an inclusive atmosphere.
- Understanding store performance and contributing to profit delivery.
- Living our values, making everyone feel welcome, and following policies.
- Clocking in and out accurately for correct payment.
- Following security procedures and using safety equipment.
- Following the 'think 25' policy when serving age-restricted products.
- Responding promptly to assistance calls or interventions at self-checkouts, explaining your actions to customers.
- Maintaining a clean, organized store environment.
- Potentially managing shifts in the absence of supervisors.
- Following all training to ensure safety and legality.
If the store has a Post Office Local, duties will include managing day-to-day operations of the post office, which requires passing a background check. Failure to pass will result in withdrawal of the job offer.
