We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. In a fast-paced retail environment where no day is the same, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operations of our store activities by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance.

As the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will be constantly looking for ways to improve service in your store through on-the-job coaching and feedback. With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop.

Responsibilities:
  • Be responsible for customer service across the store and related areas, including online, tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines to meet customer needs.
  • Put into practice training to ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Participate in seasonal, community and charity events to create a great inclusive atmosphere.
  • Be knowledgeable about store performance and the part you play in delivering profit.
  • Be yourself, live our values, make everyone feel welcome and follow policies.
  • Ensure clocking in and out is accurate to ensure correct pay.
  • Follow security procedures and wear safety equipment where available; maintain a clean, tidy and organized store environment.
  • Follow the Think 25 policy when serving age-restricted products.
  • Respond quickly to assistance calls or interventions on self-service checkouts, explaining actions to customers.
  • May be responsible for running the shift in the absence of the Shift Leader/Store Manager.
  • Follow all training to keep yourself, colleagues and customers safe and compliant with the law.
  • If applicable, duties may include day-to-day Post Office Local operations and related background checks.
Qualifications:
  • Customer service experience in retail is desirable.
