The Cleaning Operative Supervisor supports the Facilities Manager by leading cleaning operations, maintaining high workplace standards, and coordinating team performance. The role ensures compliance, effective communication, and smooth daily service delivery while managing resources, prioritising workload, and fostering a safe, well-organised environment for colleagues and visitors.
You will be responsible for:
- Supervising the team of cleaning operatives to ensure they are working safely and in line with Standard Operating Procedures and policies.
- Ensuring the team have the correct training, complete reviews and return to work interviews.
- Attending meetings with line manager to ensure updates on business needs.
- Conducting Risk Assessments and Cleaning Task Plans.
- Ensuring that provided PPE is worn.
- Completing daily/weekly tasks and duties in line with Store Support Centre Cleaning Team Task Plans.
- Managing your own workload, prioritising, and taking ownership of tasks while supporting your cleaning team colleagues' workload when necessary.
- Ensuring cleaning tasks are completed to pre-determined specifications and standards throughout.
- Maintaining polite and good communication with colleagues and visitors.
- Managing and controlling all consumable ordering of stock and communicating requests via the ordering process.
- Ensuring cleaning materials are safely stored and secured.
- Vacuuming and mopping down all areas.
- Washing or wiping where necessary all furniture, fixtures, and fittings.
- Cleaning kitchen surfaces and fridges.
- Wiping down glass doors, door handles, panels, and inside of windows, frames, and sills.
- Cleaning, mopping, and disinfecting toilet areas, panels, and tiles.
- Emptying and wiping down waste/recycling bins.
- Transferring general waste, cardboard, plastics, and recyclable items to segregated external bins.
You will need:
- Experience in COSHH desired.
- Manual Handling skills preferable.
- Experience with Microsoft Office/Outlook applications preferable.
- Good understanding of health and safety.
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service.
- Experience of balancing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to be flexible to provide cover for sickness/holiday.
