We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will work in a fast‑paced retail environment where no day is the same. In this role you will play an important part in the day‑to‑day operations of our store, providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance.
Responsibilities:
- Know my customers and serve them with passion and pride, giving great natural service.
- Actively encourage customers to give feedback through the ‘have your say’ survey.
- Work across all areas of the store—online, tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines—to ensure tasks meet customer needs.
- Put into practice the training received to ensure we work safely.
- Participate in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
- Be knowledgeable about store performance, understanding your role in delivering profit.
- Live the values, make everyone feel welcome and follow the policies.
- Ensure timely clock‑in and clock‑out to guarantee accurate pay.
- Keep yourself, colleagues and customers safe by following security procedures and wearing safety equipment where available.
- Always follow the Think 25 policy when serving age‑restricted products.
- Respond quickly to assistance calls or interventions on self‑service checkouts, explaining actions to the customer.
- Work in a clean, tidy and organised manner keeping aisles clear of congestion.
- Sometimes take responsibility for running the shift in the absence of the Shift Leader or Store Manager.
- Follow all training to keep yourself, others and the store safe and legal.
- If the store has a Post Office Local, duties will include day‑to‑day operations of the post office, requiring a post‑office financial and criminal conviction background check.
