Join to apply for the One Stop – Customer Service Assistant role at One Stop Stores Ltd.

We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will be working in a fast‑paced retail environment where no day is the same.

You will play an important role in the day‑to‑day operations of our store: providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance.

Because the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will constantly look for ways to improve service in your store through on‑the‑job coaching and feedback. With your guidance, the store will remain a safe place to work and shop.

Responsibilities

  • Know the customers and serve them with passion and pride, giving great natural service.
  • Actively encourage customers to give feedback on their shopping trip through the ‘have your say’ survey.
  • Work across all areas of the store—including online, tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines—to ensure tasks meet customer needs.
  • Apply the training received to ensure work is performed safely.
  • Participate in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
  • Be knowledgeable about the store’s performance, understand your role in delivering profit, and collaborate to achieve targets.
  • Live the company values, make everyone feel welcome and always follow policies.
  • Clock in and out at the start and end of your shift to ensure accurate pay.
  • Protect yourself, colleagues and customers by following security procedures and wearing safety equipment where available.
  • Follow the Think 25 policy when serving age‑restricted products to all customers.
  • Respond quickly to assistance calls or interventions on self‑service checkouts, explaining actions to the customer.
  • Keep aisles clear of congestion by working in a clean, tidy and organised manner.
  • At certain times, run the shift in the absence of the Shift Leader or Store Manager.
  • Continuously follow all training to keep the store safe, legal and compliant.
  • For stores with a Post Office Local, perform day‑to‑day operations of the post office; a Post Office financial and criminal conviction background check will be required and must be passed. If the checks fail, we may withdraw the job offer.
