Overview
Join One Stop as a Buying Manager for Chilled Foods Dairy & Bakery, where you\\\’ll lead the strategy for chilled foods, dairy and Bakery categories. This dynamic role focuses on delivering great value and exciting products for customers, while simplifying store operations. You\\\’ll work closely with suppliers and partners like Tesco and Booker to drive performance, launch new products, and ensure strong availability across our chilled ranges.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy to deliver great value and exciting products for customers while making things simpler for stores.
- Manage supplier relationships, drive sales and profit across seasonal and everyday ranges, and bring new products to market.
- Work cross-functionally with Tesco, Booker, and supply chain teams to ensure strong availability, reduce waste, and maintain competitive pricing.
- Support team development and champion continuous improvement across all areas of buying.
- Create a strategic plan to deliver better for customers and simpler for stores.
- Deliver sales, volume and profit in line with budgets.
- Negotiate and agree buy/sell plans with suppliers to support delivery of budgets.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships across the business.
- Work with supply chain to optimise routes to market, improve availability, reduce waste and understand MOQ impacts.
- Identify market opportunities and develop promotional plans to drive market outperformance.
- Drive NPD initiatives and continually improve the range to meet customer needs.
- Manage price baskets to remain competitive while protecting margin and communicate price and promotions through an agreed marketing plan.
- Collaborate with suppliers to deliver cost-saving initiatives and ensure processes comply with company principles.
- Ensure initiatives are right for stores and are simple to execute; identify root causes and implement solutions; solicit and act on feedback.
- Plan and review work to meet objectives; maintain a personal development plan for behavioural and technical needs.
- Ensure safety, health and welfare at work for colleagues and customers; support direct report buying MFPE & Produce development.
