Our respected dermatology practice in Southampton, NY is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to support providers with hands-on clinical and administrative care throughout each patient visit. This opportunity is ideal for an MA with at least 1 year of experience, ideally with a background in dermatology.
Position Offers:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
- Competitive hourly pay: $23–25/hour (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, including stocking dermatology instruments and supplies, coordinating room turnover, and maintaining infection control standards
- Escort patients to exam rooms and document vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaint in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Assist providers during dermatologic exams and procedures, including biopsies, excisions, and other in-office treatments, and remove numbing cream as needed
- Perform clinical tasks such as wound care, dressing changes, suture removal, and specimen handling within MA scope of practice
- Manage patient flow, including rooming, follow-up, and procedure scheduling, along with related administrative duties such as updating records, processing referrals, prior authorizations, and coordinating diagnostic or lab services
- Provide patient education on post-procedure care, treatment plans, and medication instructions
Qualifications:
- Current Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program; associate degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant (MA) experience in an outpatient or clinical setting, ideally in dermatology
- Familiarity with dermatology terminology and procedures, including biopsies, cryotherapy, excisions, and cosmetic treatments
- Comfort with patient education and basic billing/insurance processes in a specialty practice
