Job Title: Certified Dental Assistant

Pay: $27 – $28 per hour
About the Role:

We're hiring Certified Dental Assistants to join the Health Services Department at a Federal Facility near Durham, North Carolina. You'll work side by side with Dental Officers across restorative, oral surgery, periodontal, prosthetic, and emergency care, keeping treatment rooms ready, records accurate, and patients prepared and informed. With a steady Monday–Friday daytime schedule, no weekends, and federal holidays off, this full-time role offers the stability and work-life balance you've been looking for in a structured federal healthcare environment.
Position Offers:
- Pay of $27 - $28 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Dental Officers with restorative, oral surgery, periodontal, prosthetic, examination, and emergency procedures
- Retrieve patient records, escort and seat patients, and provide clear post-treatment instructions
- Prepare dental instruments, materials, medications, and treatment rooms for daily clinical operations
- Pass instruments, retract tissues, irrigate, operate suction, and assist with periodontal procedures
- Take dental radiographs, apply prescribed medications and anti-cariogenic agents, place temporary fillings, and manage rubber dams and packs
- Assist with denture and prosthesis fabrication and repairs
- Maintain confidential electronic and paper dental records, perform dental and periodontal charting, and document treatment
- Track patient scheduling and care data in the facility's electronic system
- Clean, sharpen, sterilize, inspect, and maintain dental equipment and instruments, and report any defective equipment
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience providing Dental Assistant services
- Specialty training from a licensed dentist and/or certification from an accredited Dental Assistant school, including dental radiology and radiology safety
- Bilingual communication skills (preferred)
