The RT Level II Technician will be responsible for performing radiographic testing and other nondestructive testing (NDT) methods to evaluate material integrity and detect defects. This role involves setting up and calibrating equipment, conducting inspections, interpreting results, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and safety regulations. The technician may also supervise or instruct others and support additional inspection activities as required.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment
- Conduct inspections to detect discontinuities using NDT methods
- Establish proper examination techniques in compliance with safety regulations
- Apply testing criteria as per applicable specifications and standards
- Interpret radiographs, CRT or digital readouts, conductivity meters, and visual indicators
- Organize and document inspection results
- Perform specialized inspections
- Instruct and supervise other personnel when required
- Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Some college education preferred
- Certification as Level II RT (CR and/or DR preferred)
- Technical background in NDT methods and procedures
- Knowledge of NDT equipment
- Experience in report writing
Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to perform assigned NDT tasks effectively
- Ability to interpret inspection results accurately
- Strong understanding of radiographic testing methods and procedures
