Position Summary

The Radiography Supervisor / Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting all radiographic inspection activities to ensure they are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements, site procedures, and applicable regulations.

The role includes preparing radiation barrier plans, coordinating permits, conducting site walkdowns, attending coordination meetings, performing Positive Material Identification (PMI) inspections, and maintaining accurate inspection documentation while promoting a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and support industrial radiography activities in accordance with project requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Prepare, review, and submit radiation barrier plans in line with project and site requirements.
  • Conduct pre-job site walkdowns to assess work locations, identify potential hazards, and verify readiness for radiographic operations.
  • Coordinate and arrange required work permits and authorizations before radiography activities begin.
  • Participate in daily and weekly radiography coordination meetings, providing updates on planned work, scheduling requirements, and operational constraints.
  • Liaise with construction, inspection, operations, and HSE teams to ensure radiography activities are effectively coordinated with other site operations.
  • Ensure all radiography work complies with relevant legislation, company procedures, radiation safety requirements, and client specifications.
  • Coordinate radiography crews to ensure inspections are completed according to approved plans and schedules.
  • Monitor work progress and resolve coordination issues to minimize project delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of radiation barrier plans, permits, inspection activities, and coordination documentation.
  • Perform Positive Material Identification (PMI) inspections using approved equipment and procedures.
  • Report inspection results and maintain traceable inspection records.
  • Support quality assurance and inspection activities as required.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, implementing controls, and ensuring compliance with radiation protection requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating industrial radiography activities on construction, fabrication, or maintenance projects.
  • Knowledge of industrial radiography practices, radiation safety principles, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Experience preparing radiation barrier plans and coordinating exclusion zones.
  • Experience conducting site walkdowns and coordinating multidisciplinary work activities.
  • Competency in Positive Material Identification (PMI) inspections.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, and inspection documentation.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project documentation systems.
  • PCN ARS certification.
  • CCNSG certification.
  • Valid Radiation Medical certification.
  • Additional NDT certifications such as UT, MT, PT, VT, or Eddy Current (desirable).
