The Advanced Services Inspector is responsible for performing specialized non-destructive examinations using advanced inspection methods and techniques. The role involves leading inspection activities, analyzing complex data, and serving as a subject matter expert in advanced NDE applications. The inspector works closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality inspection services while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced NDE techniques in accordance with company procedures, client specifications, and industry codes (ASME, API, AWS, etc.).
- Operate and configure advanced inspection equipment and scanning systems.
- Collect, interpret, and analyze complex inspection data and provide accurate reports and recommendations.
- Interface directly with clients and engineers to communicate inspection findings and ensure objectives are met.
- Maintain proficiency in data acquisition software and digital reporting platforms.
- Supervise and mentor junior technicians and assistants during inspection activities.
- Contribute to project planning, scan plans, procedure development, and technique qualification reviews.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including Life Critical Expectations and site-specific requirements.
- Uphold industry standards and company expectations related to professionalism, integrity, and quality.
Qualifications:
- Multiple conventional NDT Level II/III certifications or equivalent (ASNT/PCN/CGSB).
- Certifications such as API 510/570/653, CWI, AMPP, or other advanced inspection qualifications.
- Radiation Safety Training or Industrial Radiographer certification (if applicable).
- Experience working in refineries, petrochemical plants, pipeline projects, or fabrication shops.
- TWIC, OSHA 10/30, or similar safety certifications are advantageous.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background checks.
- Ability to obtain TWIC, DISA, or other site access credentials.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, peers, and supervisors.
- Ability to travel, work extended hours, and operate in challenging field environments including confined spaces and elevated work areas.
- Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset.
