Position Summary: The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) will perform advanced structural and crane inspections as part of a structural inspection service line. The role involves conducting non‑destructive testing (NDT) field inspections, ensuring compliance with applicable standards such as AWS D1.1, and maintaining high levels of quality and safety. This is a full‑time union position offered on a per‑diem basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complete NDT field inspections based on customer and company procedures, with a strong focus on quality and safety.
  • Conduct advanced inspections as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) within crane and structural inspection markets.
  • Operate and interpret results using advanced NDT methods.
  • Ensure all inspection equipment is properly set up, calibrated, and fully functional in accordance with company and customer procedures.
  • Operate advanced NDT equipment, including calibration, field execution, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications, including conventional and advanced NDT standards.

Qualifications:

  • Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of CWI experience.
  • Experience in structural inspection markets in accordance with AWS D1.1.
  • High‑strength bolting experience.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
  • Preferred:
  • NDT training and experience (MT/UT).
  • ICC certification.

Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Must meet company requirements to operate a company vehicle and be eligible for company insurance coverage.
  • Free healthcare and benefits.
  • Pay rate of $50.39 per hour (as per current Collective Bargaining Agreement, subject to applicable factors).
