The Associate Test Technician works as part of the operations team within one of Element’s laboratories, performing routine and non-routine NDT testing assignments under direct supervision. The role is responsible for supporting testing activities to ensure timely, accurate, and reliable results while complying with established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare material specimens for testing
- Perform tests in accordance with customer specifications
- Operate under the supervision of a senior test technician and/or Department Manager
- Gather, record, and document test data accurately
- Construct, maintain, and support the upkeep of test fixtures and laboratory equipment
Skills / Qualifications
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety practices
- High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
- College or vocational coursework welcomed
- 0–2 years of experience in a testing-related field
- Basic understanding of testing concepts
- Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts is a plus
Physical Demands
- Moderate physical force required
- Frequent lifting of less than 50 lbs and occasional lifting of more than 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs periodically
