An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Westminster Theological Centre (WTC) as Assistant Registrar. This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of the college’s operations, supporting students from their first inquiry all the way through to graduation. The role will suit someone who has a genuine love of detail, is highly organised, and thrives in a fast‑moving environment where they can take initiative and make a real difference.
The Assistant Registrar will report to the Senior Registrar as a key member of the Registry Team, which oversees the administrative running of the college. They will work closely with the Registry and Academic Teams, as well as with students, staff, Hub Directors, Faculty and WTC’s validating partner, Birmingham Newman University.
Day to day, the Assistant Registrar will support all stages of the student journey – from initial enquiry and application right through to programme completion. They will maintain student, Faculty and module records, act as the main administrative point of contact for the college’s learning platform (Moodle), and play a key role in preparing for Assessment Boards and annual Residential weeks.
The role also carries responsibility for the college library, including keeping the library system up to date, purchasing books and e‑books, managing digital licences, and ensuring copyright compliance.
The successful candidate will be organised, proactive and detail focussed, with the ability to take initiative as needed. Strong IT skills are important, as is a ‘can do’ attitude. The team is small and hard‑working, with a strong and positive culture. The applicant must agree fully with WTC’s mission and values; it is a genuine occupational requirement that the Assistant Registrar be a practising Christian.
This is a full‑time, permanent position (37.5 hours/week). The role attracts a salary of £28,000–£33,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications, together with access to a pension scheme. Annual holiday allowance is 25 days per calendar year plus bank holidays.
The role is based at WTC’s offices in Cheltenham, with occasional remote working granted upon request in exceptional circumstances. The role requires full attendance at both annual Residential weeks (early September and early January).
